Brief

The front garden for this beautiful period home was a jungle of outgrown plants with metre upon metre of bumpy unappealing brick paving. The main entrance to the house was via a dog legged path from an inconvenient corner of the garden. The clients wanted a completely new garden with a reconfigured front fence and entry to the house.

Solution

We designed paths and a patio to complement the brickwork of the house and to incorporate bricks saved during the demolition of the garden. We then designed soft scape to further complement the era of the home and to set off the existing palm tree (the only plant retained from the original garden. In Autumn, the maple will bring a burst of red. We planted Boston Ivy to dress the fence at the entry and to balance this pop of season colour. We look forward to returning in a few months to build the rear garden.
